The Faculty of Business and Economics offers two accredited Master study programmes:

Open Informatics 2 years 65 000 CZK (approximately 2 550 EUR)

Economics and Management

Graduates will gain a deep knowledge of Economics and Company Management, and specific managerial and economic competencies to ensure business operations, production management, financial management, strategic management and human resources management. Graduates will be ready for independent and team work, they will have advanced knowledge of decision support tools, statistical data analysis, modern information systems and economic program equipment. Graduates will be able to use general theoretical knowledge from the science fields of economics and managements to create new non-standard solutions to decision making problems and to make prognosis; graduates will have developed very good organisational skills, they will have very good communication skills both in Czech and English and their arguments and decisions will be based on good quality quantitative data.


Open Informatics

The goal of the program Open Informatics is to educate professionals with critical thinking who can participate in the development of complex software applications and IT systems. The emphasis is put on the architecture design and implementation of large technological systems and the management of the development process with the application of appropriate methodologies. The study program deepens and expands the necessary theoretical background and principles related to the focus of the study program. The graduates also gain experience related to the design of complex algorithms, from graph algorithms to methods of artificial intelligence. According to their preferences, students focus on the areas of data analysis and machine learning, user interfaces design, advanced automation, or ensuring data credibility.

Cíle studia ve studijním programu / Learning outcomes of the study programme

The study program Economic Informatics is focused on the education of experts in the domain of information systems and information and communication technologies. It provides advanced knowledge and practical skills in important areas of computer science, economics, and management. A special emphasis is put on software engineering, information systems design, and systems integration and on the application of specialized fields of computer science. Graduates will become interdisciplinary experts who are able to take into account not only current trends in information technologies but also the needs and trends from the corporate practice.

Profil absolventa studijního programu / Graduate profile

Graduates can work not only as employees but also as entrepreneurs in their field. In practice, they mostly perform the functions of specialists in software systems development, operation and administration of complex software applications, technologies, and infrastructure, data analysts, information systems analysts, designers, and consultants, and managers of teams focused on these activities.

Podmínky přijetí ke studiu / Admission requirements

Finished any higher education level with state exam and the admission test from Economic Informatics.

Struktura studijního plánu / Structure of the study plan

Student is required to earn at least 120 ECTS credits. Passing all required and elective courses will earn to the student 64 ECTS credits. Student choses the track SNAN Advanced Data Analysis. Student must collect at least 15 ECTS credits for the group of elective courses listed below the study plan (MI2A, MA2A, and DETA or MEKA, STMA, and MVYA). Student must also collect at least 18 ECTS credits for the second group of elective courses listed below the study plan. Rest of the ECTS credits to the required minimum of 120 ECTS credits student earns from all optional courses offered at the University.
